[read more]“Tropic Thunder” topped the box office charts for a third straight weekend, earning approximately $14.6 million to close the summer movie season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Babylon A.D.” claimed second place, taking in approximately $11.5 million over the weekend, and “The Dark Knight” finished a close third with approximately 11.1 million.

[read more]FOX’s “House” and ESPN’s “Home Run Derby” are the most popular primetime programs on broadcast and cable, respectively, among U.S. TV viewers watching from their offices, fitness clubs, hotels, and bars.
In July, each show drew 570,000 out-of-home viewers, according to Nielsen and Integrated Media Measurement Inc. (IMMI), which recently began delivering the first daily, all-electronic, national TV ratings for viewing that occurs outside of the home.
Nielsen and IMMI’s new syndicated, national service relies on a sample of 2,500 panelists that is separate from Nielsen’s National People Meter sample.

“Dark Knight” took in an estimated $16.4 million over the weekend to raise the film’s overall gross to $471.1 million, surpassing the original “Star Wars” ($461 million) to secure second place in all-time box office rankings – behind “Titanic”.
