The number of unique viewers of online video increased 5.2% year-over-year according to The Nielsen Company, from 137.4 million unique viewers in January 2009 to 142.7 million in January 2010.

More than 11 billion video streams were served up in the U.S. in the month of November, a 17% jump from the same time period last year.

Time spent viewing video on social networking sites increased 98 percent year-over-year as the number of online video streams viewed on social networking and blog sites increased 45 percent year-over-year.
