CBS’s “NCIS” was the number one-ranked primetime telecast on broadcast TV for Tuesday, October 7, 2008, drawing an audience of almost 16.3 million average viewers.
ABC’s special presentation of “Dancing With The Stars” claimed second place, with almost 15.1 million viewers.  ABC’s post-debate analysis of the second McCain/Obama presidential debate rounded out the top three, with just over 9.9 million viewers.
Post-debate coverage on NBC, CBS, and FOX also made the top ten.

ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” was the number one-ranked primetime telecast on broadcast TV for Monday, October 6, 2008.
CBS’s “Two and a Half Men,” “CSI: Miami,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “Worst Week” dominated the next five slots in Nielsen’s ranking.

CBS’s “Survivor: Gabon” beat out post-debate analyses of the vice presidential debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden to claim the slot as the most-watched primetime telecast on broadcast TV for Thursday, October 2, 2008.  Almost 13.1 million average viewers tuned in to watch the second episode of the new “Survivor” season.
Post-debate coverage on ABC and NBC rounded out the top three, with 9.778 million and 9.777 million average viewers, respectively.
CBS and FOX’s post-debate coverage also made the top ten, drawing almost 8 million and just over 4 million average viewers, …

NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” rounded out the top three.

CBS’s “CSI: Miami” and “Two and a Half Men” claimed second and third places, with roughly 14.3 million and 13.6 million average viewers, respectively.

ABC’s post-debate analysis of Barack Obama and John McCain’s first presidential debate was the top-ranked primetime telecast on broadcast TV for Friday, September 26, 2008.  The show drew an average of almost 8.3 million viewers.
CBS’s “The Mentalist” claimed second place, with almost 7.9 million average viewers, while NBC’s post-debate coverage rounded out the top three, with just over 7.1 million average viewers.
Post-debate analysis on CBS (6.1 million average viewers) and FOX News (3.9 million average viewers) also made the top ten.

The season premiere of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” was the top-ranked primetime telecast on broadcast TV for Thursday, September 25, 2008.  The show drew an average of almost 18.5 million viewers.
CBS’s “Survivor: Gabon” season premiere claimed second place, with almost 13.1 million average viewers, while the season premiere of ABC’s other Thursday night premiere, “Ugly Betty,” rounded out the top three, with just over 9.8 million average viewers.
NBC’s three Thursday night season premieres, “Office,” “E.R.,” and “My Name Is Earl,” also made the top ten.

ABC’s special presentation of “Dancing with the Stars” claimed second place, with almost 15.9 million average viewers, while the season premiere of CBS’s “CSI:NY” rounded out the top three, with almost 14.6 million average viewers.
Several other Wednesday night premieres also made the top ten: NBC’s “Knight Rider” and “Lipstick Jungle,” as well as CBS’s “Gary Unmarried” and ”New Adventures of Old Christine.”
