FOX’s “American Idol-Wednesday” claimed the top slot in Nielsen’s ranking of the top primetime telecasts on broadcast TV for May 20, 2009. The show drew just over 28.8 million average viewers Wednesday night.
CBS’s “Criminal Minds” was the second-ranked program with approximately 14.0 million average viewers while NBC’s “Law And Order” rounded out the top three with 6.7 million average viewers.

Overall, FOX won the night with an average audience of almost 28.8 million viewers,
while CBS took second place with almost 11.2 million average viewers. NBC and UNI
claimed third and fourth places with roughly 5.3 and 3.8 million average viewers.
ABC and TEL followed in fifth and sixth places with average audiences of roughly
3.4 million and 1.4 million average viewers.
