Primetime Broadcast Ratings, May 19, 2009

FOX’s “American Idol-Tuesday” claimed the top slot in Nielsen’s ranking of the top primetime telecasts on broadcast TV for May 19, 2009. The show drew just over 23.8 million average viewers Tuesday night.

ABC’s “Dancing W/Stars Results” was the second-ranked program with 20.3 million average viewers while CBS’s “The Mentalist” rounded out the top three with 16.8 million average viewers.

Overall, FOX won the night with an average audience of almost 17.0 million viewers,
while ABC took second place with almost 16.1 million average viewers. CBS and NBC
claimed third and fourth places with roughly 14.9 and 4.5 million average viewers.
UNI and the CW followed in fifth and sixth places with average audiences of roughly
4.1 million and 1.9 million average viewers.
