FOX’s “American Idol-Tuesday” was the number one-ranked primetime telecast on broadcast
TV for Tuesday, May 12, 2009 with approximately 22.7 million average viewers.

CBS’s “The Mentalist” and “NCIS” rounded out the top three ranked programs with approximately
16.2 million average viewers.

Overall, FOX won the night with an average audience of almost 16.5 million viewers,
while CBS took second place with almost 15.3 million average viewers. NBC and ABC
claimed third and fourth places with roughly 11.8 million and 7.7 million average viewers.
UNI and the CW followed in fifth and sixth places with average audiences of roughly
4.8 million and 2.0 million average viewers, respectively.
