Primetime Broadcast Ratings, March 5, 2009

FOX’s “American Idol Thursday Special” claimed the top slot in Nielsen’s ranking of the top primetime telecasts on broadcast TV for March 5, 2009. The show drew just over 21.5 million average viewers Thursday evening.

CBS’s “CSI” and “Eleventh Hour” rounded out the top three with 20.9 and 12.1 million average viewers respectively.

Overall, FOX won the night with an average audience of almost 15.8 million viewers, while CBS took second place with almost 15.0 million average viewers. NBC and ABC claimed third and fourth places with roughly 7.1 and 5.5 million average viewers, respectively. UNI and the CW followed in fifth and sixth places with average audiences of roughly 4.0 million and 2.1 million average viewers, respectively.
