NBC’s “Dateline Friday” claimed the top slot in Nielsen’s ranking of the top primetime telecasts on
broadcast TV for July 17, 2009. The show drew just over 5.9 million average viewers Friday evening.
CBS’s “Ghost Whisperer” and “Flashpoint” rounded out the top three with 5.2 and 5.0 million average viewers.

Overall, CBS won the night with an average audience of almost 5.1 million viewers,
while NBC took second place with almost 4.7 million average viewers. FOX and UNI
claimed third and fourth places with roughly 4.3 and 3.3 million average viewers.
MNT and ABC followed in fifth and sixth places with average audiences of roughly
2.9 million and 2.8 million average viewers, respectively.
