Primetime Broadcast Ratings, April 8, 2009

FOX’s “American Idol-Wednesday” claimed the top slot in Nielsen’s ranking of the top primetime telecasts on broadcast TV for April 8, 2009. The show drew just over 23.0 million average viewers Wednesday evening.

CBS’s “Criminal Minds” and “CSI: NY” ranked second and third with 13.6 and 12.5 million average viewers respectively.

Overall, FOX won the night with an average audience of almost 15.8 million viewers, while CBS took second place with almost 11.1 million average viewers. ABC and UNI claimed third and fourth places with roughly 6.6 and 5.0 million average viewers, respectively. NBC and the CW followed in fifth and sixth places with average audiences of roughly 4.9 million and 2.8 million average viewers, respectively.
