FOX’s “American Idol-Tuesday” was the number one ranked primetime telecast on broadcast TV for Tuesday, April 7, 2009. The program had approximately 17.8 million average viewers.

CBS’s “NCIS” and “The Mentalist” rounded out the top three ranked programs with approximately 16.9 and 14.6 million average viewers.

Overall, FOX won the night with an average audience of almost 16.9 million average viewers. CBS and NBC ranked second & third with approximately 15.6 and 8.5 million average viewers. ABC came in fourth with roughly 8.3 million average viewers while UNI and the CW followed in fifth & sixth with average audiences of roughly 4.9 and 2.0 million.
