		<description>It is mildly interesting that we will double the number of TVs per household in about 30 years ... 30 years is the new &quot;generation&quot; [as opposed to the older 25 years] because people just live longer and have kids later. But I digress.

The more interesting statistic would be to see the growth rate of monitors [TVs, computers, cell phones, picture frames, auto GPS] per household since 1975. It&#039;s a hard figure to acquire. Videography Lab has been on it for a couple of years.

On the day of this authors birth, in January 1946, there were less than 40,000 monitors in non military use worldwide. Sixty three years later in 2009 there are well over 8,000,000,000 monitors on Earth and that number is growing exponentially as automotive and mobile monitors [aka handsets] hit there stride in &quot;the Age of Videography&quot; [Miller Freeeman publishers - 1996].

All these monitors are intended to convey information and to improve life. Why don&#039;t we see life improving?</description>
