Facebook and Twitter Post Large Year over Year Gains in Unique Users

Compared to user activity on social networking sites last year, Facebook and Twitter posted gains of 69% and 45% respectively in the U.S.

Globally, the total minutes spent on social networks monthly saw a more than 100% gain over the same time last year, driving the average time per person spent on social networks to over six hours per month.

    These ratings surprised me a little – I must confess. I expected Twitter to show continued growth, but I was under the impression – mistaken – that the growth be quite a bit slower. Facebook's growth is simply amazing. Given the slow job market, I thought Linked In's useage might have been in growth mode, but it isn't. Wonder why?

    as a user, twitter is full of advetisments and I am tired of got twitted by commercial…Linked In is good but you cannot link to someone you found if you are considered by Linked In: "you are out of this person's network"
