Well we run a strategy based role-playing game on Facebook called Mercenaries, and we've actually discovered that people actually do pay for things virtual credits and products. And most of our revenue streams from this rather than from advertising.

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our society, and I am fairly certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as memory becomes cheaper, the possibility of uploading our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about all the time.

Wonderfully timely survey - for which many thanks.

We do however beware of possible differences between thoughts and actions when it comes to willingness to pay rather than being subjected to more advertising. I would be very surprised if North American / European web users were as keen to pay as the survey suggests.
