NBC’s “Dateline Friday” claimed the top slot in Nielsen’s ranking of the top primetime telecasts on
broadcast TV for July 17, 2009. The show drew just over 5.9 million average viewers Friday evening.
CBS’s “Ghost Whisperer” and “Flashpoint” rounded out the top three with 5.2 and 5.0 million average viewers.
As Myspace.com continues its strategic move toward becoming an “entertainment portal,” the growth to Myspace Music should help cement their presence in this space. Toward the end of 2008, the global downturn was adversely impacting advertising spending throughout many key markets around the world, with Europe and the Americas struggling more than others. The Nielsen Company reported today 200,000 homes have upgraded to digital television in the last two weeks. In the month following the June 12 government-mandated digital TV transition, more than a million homes have made the switch. This recent improvement leaves 1.5 million American households, or 1.3% of the U.S., unable to receive digital television signals through the week ending July 12.

[read more]NBC’s “America’s Got Talent-Wednesday 9PM” claimed the top slot in Nielsen’s ranking of the top primetime telecasts broadcast TV for July 15, 2009. The show drew just over 11.6 million average viewers Wednesday evening.
CBS’s “CSI: NY” was the second-ranked program with approximately 8.0 million average viewers while ABC’s “Wipeout” rounded out the top three with approximately 7.7 million average viewers.
Nielsen’s latest automotive industry overview tracked the online conversations, and the steadily declining price, of diesel over the last 12 months. Though diesel has been a hot topic within alternative fuel buzz at times, a downward trend in discussion over the past year speaks to a decline in consumer interest.
Findings & Analysis:
Total diesel buzz decreased 28% from June ‘08 to June ‘09, while diesel fuel fell by $2.15 per gallon or 45%
Domestic trucks and German cars are most prominently mentioned within diesel buzz
